The Dangers of being in a gang

First I want to specifically say I had wrote this aimed toward the African American male who has chosen to waste his life
in a street gang, but I want to include any male who is in one. you need to get out!, do what it takes and stop living your
life like a little child trying to patrol a block that you're never going to own. Ive  seen so many boys grow up in the lifestyle
trying to be someone, being in a gang is not only damaging to men in the gang but to ones not in the gang and I dont mean
 by drive by, let me explain:
African American men, when you think of them generally what do you think about? do you think  about doctors,lawyers or
engineers? no, what comes to mind? either entertainers or gang members, limited choice dont you think? black children
need to know that their are many more choices than being an entertainer and even worse a street hustler or gang member.
If you polled your average white child, they'd probably come up with alot of different choices of careers. the dangers of being in a gang are this, the obvious, you will be killed or shot at, go to prison and actually worse, youre squandering your life away.
When you watch the news and a crime has been committed by a black person, the reporter says this,"police arent saying if its gang related or not" when a crime is done by whites, its an isolated incident. when a gang member does a crime,ALL African americans are seen as criminals and someone might say I dont care as long as I'm getting paid, you are a fool!. the more you go the worse it gets, I had a friend who was a member of the bloods, he said, Im a blood til I die, I said you have any kids? he said I have a son, he's gonna be strong, just like me! and I said he's going to be dead just like you, because you just killed him!. he said why do I say that?, I told him say this, youre a blood and your rivals are the crips, the crips come looking for you, they know where you live, they come shoot up your house, kill your son while theyre looking for you, he said then Id come get them, I said it doesnt matter if you go get them or not, your son is dead because you chose to be in a gang, your "REAL" family, listen, a real family doesnt put you in harms way, a real family doesnt let you get sent off to prison , take a mug shot and you think you look hard, hey DumbA**, YOURE GOING TO PRISON for life! brag about that! your boys on the outside will not have your back for life! it's not all like the ICE CUBE song, I can run a nation from incarcenation.
another bad thing about gangs is this, how many times have you ever heard someone in the suburbs say hey, why dont they put something like the malls or a supercenter in this part of town? some cry racism but it is far from it,put yourself as a business and you WANT to put a business over there but you have gangs that might scare away customers or crime might be so bad they are scared to put a business there, would you place your business there? you might say yes but with that all around, how long will it last? you cant have good things like shops with gangs around. also people need to start "Snitching", sometimes the police are nobodies friend no matter what race you are, but when someone kills your friends or family, why on earth are you going to sit silent and let them get away with it?people wake up! get these people off the streets.
This is why gang members are also not too bright, you will never get rich! the people you sell drug money for, theyre getting rich, the cartels, the traffickers, youre just a dolphin waiting for the next fish to be handed to you and then told to do a trick, get out of the gangs! realize youre better than that. women who idolize thugs and gang members must not have very much hope for themselves or want very much, you too need to also do better for yourselves. parents, it IS NOT the  fault of the teachers at school your kids are the way they are, you need to get  grip on your kids, keep them off the street, put some value into them.Rappers and the music industry, if youre not part of the solution, youre part of the problem. it is not the fault of white people either, this is a cop out, it might be harder but you can do anything they or anybody else can do, you might have to work harder but there's always a way. gang members need to do some deep soul searching and do it before you join a gang, ask yourself is this all your'e worth? grow up!.
